Creators of Parallel Realities
This is what we aspire to be and it's why we’ve chosen our name— drawing inspiration from Pindaro, the ancient Greek poet of journeys through parallel universes— for our vision of Trip-hop and Dark-wave.
Our project took root in Milan, Italy, back in 2019, founded by Cecilia Miradoli and Max Tarenzi. Our debut self-titled EP featured the single ‘Toy,’ which garnered airplay on stations like KEXP. Notably, English critic and biographer Kris Needs invited us to perform in London during the launch of his book.
In 2020, amidst the global lockdown, we recorded our first album, ‘Parallel.’ The legendary Howie B contributed remotely to its production, and in 2021, it found its home with the English label Fruits de Mer Records. Our journey continued with tours across Italy and Europe, accompanied by drummer Alessandro Baris.
By the summer of 2023, we paused in Bristol, where we completed recordings for our new album at Riverside Studio in Bath. Collaborating intensely with Bruno Ellingham (known for his work with Massive Attack, Unkle, Portishead, Everything But the Girl, and New Order), we forged a powerful creative partnership.
During this period, James Johnston— painter and musician, founder of Gallon Drunk, as well as a collaborator with Nick Cave and PJ Harvey—graciously provided the image of one of his paintings (‘Lake House’) for the cover of ‘A Sparkle on the Dark Water.’
Our album, released on March 22, 2024, once again through Fruits de Mer Records, was preceded by three singles: ‘Humans’ and ‘Little Light,’ directed by American filmmaker Telavaya Reynolds, featuring contemporary dance choreography by Tlathui Maza, and ‘Frozen Roses,’ directed and animated by Marco Molinelli.
We’re currently on tour.
